Cunning Stunts

Poster of the play Cunning Stunts, designed by Dorota Glac
We spent several months gathering the voices of those who identify with femininity. We asked not only about specific dreams related to sex, but also about the importance of physical intimacy in a people’s lives. These subjective stories about sex have the power to liberate us from stereotypes. By exploring what is normally hidden, we want to create a space of freedom of expression and community between all women, regardless of age, experience, status or education. By recreating the gesture made by Nancy Friday in 1973, when she wrote My Secret Garden, we want to create a contemporary map of erotic desires and dreams, and find an appropriate theatrical language for them.
Women’s Erotic Fantasies Collective
The project was initiated by Dorota Glac from Teraz Poliż, as well as philosopher and researcher Aleksandra Hirszfeld (as a continuation of her earlier work with illustrator and cartoonist Agata ‘Endo’ Nowicka on a publication entitled “The Being – an erotic graphic novel”.)
The study and performance were created in collaboration with sexologists Alicja Długołęcka and Agata Loewe as part of the research project Matka się kocha. Part of the research was an anonymous survey on women’s erotic fantasies shared, among other things, on the project’s fanpage under the same title.
The premiere was held on the 26th of May 2019 at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw.
